After a much closer contest than we ever anticipated, the results have been tallied and the winners are:

First Place:

Are We There Yet?
We loved the sweetness of these 7 daughters and that the whole family worked together to show how Timberdoodle products can transform traveling from downtime to productive fun!

Second Place:

Intelligent Play
What a delight to see second generation homeschoolers with such a zeal for learning. With 5 little ones 6 and under, we were impressed not only with these children’s excitement but also their sweet spirits toward each other.

Third Place:

Homeschool Bunch
Returning contestants from last year, the Jones family pulled off a very nice Timberdoodle version of the Brady Bunch Theme song. Nicely shot and well-edited, this one is a pleasure to watch!

This was the only video to feature Mashoongas, and we loved the clever stop-motion!

Being horse-lovers ourselves, we don’t think this family could have picked better stars for their first-ever stop-motion film.

Great voices and use of different products in this one. Having the Stickfas assemble the Snap Circuits was a great touch!

A Day in the Life of a Timberdoodle Preschooler
A family favorite here, it is very obvious that this family enjoys spending time together and that little Hope is learning a lot, every day!

An Ode To Timberdoodle
The research and well-timed visuals on this musical production are very impressive, good job!

Arrival of Timberdoodle Products
Amazing is an understatement here. The lighting, painstakingly precise stop-motion and professional use of camera focus combine into a very, very nice commercial.

Timberdoodle Sleuths
We were blown away by the top-notch filming, clever storyline and amazing acting in this video. It is an absolute pleasure to watch these five siblings work together!

This filmmaker took a creative approach to the contest, and used Timberdoodle products her family owns to spell out Timberdoodle!

Timberdoodle Birthday
This 11-year-old shows how Timberdoodle’s products make great birthday gifts-even for stop motion figures!

Our Timberdoodle Genius
A personal favorite, this older brother has made an outstanding documentary showing just how his younger brother has become the genius he is today.

Timmy Doodle’s Vocabulary Lesson
This video has been the most quoted at business meetings, and our video team has been asked by the boss why we never use sparkly things like they did. Hmm… I think we’ll have to work on that!

The Search for the Timberdoodle
Since a Timberdoodle is a rare game bird, this hunting video was a perfect fit. Thorough planning, great acting, filming and editing combined to make a really nice film, worthy or rewatching!

Techno-doodle!
Fast-paced and filled with bouncy, joyful children; we’re not sure it is possible to watch this video without smiling! Most impressive of all though, was the elaborate domino sequence spelling out Timberdoodle.

Bring Home Timberdoodle Catalogs!!!!
The only film written from a graduate’s perspective, we loved the whole-family involvement. While we loved seeing the firefighter in the kitchen (many of us are or have been firefighters) probably my favorite scene was when little Judah imitated his big sister in correcting the hillbilly’s grammar!

Math Madness
An excellent dramatization of the real-life story we’ve heard from multiple families: What happens when a younger student just can’t wait any longer to move into Teaching Textbooks? Very professionally filmed too.

Fighting The Flames
It is obvious that this filmmaker put hours into this wonderful production. Since many of us either are or have been members of our local fire departments, the storyline was as captivating as the action. Excellent work.

Timberdoodle Learning
There are so many different types of media in this film! From computer-drawn animated paintings to stop motion with construction kits to real-time action, this video includes them all!

My First BrainBox
If you’ve ever wondered how BrainBox is played, wonder no longer. This clear video will let you pull up a chair and watch a round!

We Love Timberdoodle!
These young ladies are exceptionally poised and do an excellent, well-thought out job of explaining what they like about the Timberdoodle products they use.

We are just about ready to start our fourth year of homeschooling, and we are so excited that we found Timberdoodle! Our two-year-old BEGS for her “school” every day, even on weekends, and she likes to read her Timberdoodle catalog right before bedtime. We love how Timberdoodle makes the highest quality of Christian education both fun and affordable.

Our family had so much fun making this video! It wasn’t hard to teach Hope (2) all her lines (they are things she says in real life), and she even threw in some funny improvisations. Do we have a future actress on our hands? Lexi (14) also enjoyed trying out something new–making the movie!

I am Douglas Mendenhallm,which you most likely already knew. I am 14. I like making movies. I like contests. I like Timberdoodle. I like using short sentences. And I’ve been homeschooled ever since I started school 8yrs ago. I have a stinking job. Really stinking. Extremely stinking. I clean horse stalls and I enjoy the work. I am still using short sentences.

Well I thought that some sort of song/ode/rap would stick in your head more than anything. Why do I say this? Because my Mom and Dad still remember cigarette ads from way back when and guess what, those ads were songs or jingles. Hence the song/ode/rap.

The Filmmaker
Four siblings ranging in age from 17-10 contributed to the making of this video. They have been making films for about 10 years, from the first films being made with a VHS camera to this video shot with Sony’s new PMW-EX3.

Behind the Scenes
The final concept was turned into a storyboard which was then edited to music. Once the rough edit was done the number of frames needed for each drawing were written down and the video was shot in one afternoon. The younger siblings contributed the characters and the oldest did the post-production. Homeschooling has allowed the oldest to take college classes and he used the college’s production equipment to make the video.
