About The Filmmaker
We are the kids of Engeland! There are 12 kids in the Engel clan (oh, and two parents). Our mom has been buying Timberdoodle products for us to use since we first started homeschooling twenty years ago! We only showed a few of them here. 
Behind The Scenes
We love to make videos and this was a team effort. The Engels involved in this particular project range in age from 17 to 2-and-a-half, and we all worked hard (especially the night before this was due)!

Jonathan, thank you very much for your encouraging message! Yes, we were excited when our video was in the top 3 before, but now it looks like others will win the free school supplies. Despite that, entering this contest was all worth it because of an email we received from a stranger who said that when she watched our video she made the decision to keep her 2.5 year old in home school instead of putting her in a preschool. God can do miracles even through a silly video and He will provide our school supplies in another way! I have the stop-motion kit from Timberdoodle, but didn’t use it, though the book was a big help. I didn’t even use an animator. I loaded the pictures into my editing software, then added them to the time line, one by one. I took the pictures with Vivitar’s DVR 550 camera. I edited them in ArcSoft’s ShowBiz DVD. I drew on the frames with Adobe Photoshop. All the voices were mine. I changed them in the sound editing program Audacity. Most of the sound effects came from SoundJay.com. I compressed it with VirtualDubMod, which is on the CD in the stop-motion animation kit.
You can draw on the frames with the stop-motion kit animator. The book explains how to do this.
I do hope to be back next year. I wish I knew of more Christian, family video contests on the internet.
